What the connection actually does

It helps to be clear about the two jobs a connection performs. First, it authorises payments. Thick stone walls, common in older churches and historic buildings, can weaken a signal far more than people expect. Guest networks that show a sign-in or terms page in a browser, often called a captive portal, can also interfere, because an unattended device cannot tap a button to accept those terms. Wired Ethernet: the most reliable choice

Where a network cable can reach the device, a wired connection is usually the most dependable option of all. Plan for the moment the connection drops

No connection is perfect, so the sensible thing is to plan for an outage rather than hope one never happens. For events, a charged device on mobile data, with a backup means of connecting, keeps you trading if one network has a bad day.
